synopsis
After an aspiring writer fails his law exams, he’s sent to a sleepy provincial court to lick his wounds. Instead he falls for Lotte, a young woman who is promised to another man. The film is loosely based on the early life of German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749–1832).
